Why Most Self-Help Books Don’t Work
48
Many people spend quite a bit of money and time studying self-help books on success, but then they never quite seem to achieve what they set out to accomplish. There are a few reasons for this so I would like to share a few with you.
1) Understand how the mind works:
You can read and reread all the self-help books you want but unless you understand how the mind works, success will never become a reality for you. The best way to understand how your mind works is to pick up a book on your subconscious mind and then you will understand why you have failed in the past with trying to apply what you have learned.
Are you aware that all success books were actually derived from the Bible! Were you also aware that you can actually trick your mind into thinking and believing anything you tell it to!
2) Repetition is the key ingredient:
All successful people repeat their goals, write them down and say them out loud on a daily basis. They always remain focused on what they want to achieve and never let anything get in their way. Repetition is the key ingredient to success.
You can actually speak your world into existence. By keeping what you want to achieve in the present tense, your subconscious mind doesn't have a clue what is real and what is not. By staying positive, speaking your goals and writing them down, you can trick your mind into thinking that you have already achieved what you want to accomplish.
The most important thing to remember is that your subconscious mind knows when you are full of it. You can easily self sabotage yourself by stating ridiculous goals. For example, if you currently make $20K a year and then all of a sudden you start making $5K a month, guess what happens? You will self destruct when your reality expands beyond your self-image of what you believe is true about you.
Just by reading words, you haven't actually experienced change. You need to work on what you have learned and apply life changing concepts before anything in your life will ever change.

I would love to add one into the list, because most are selfhelp junkies. Read everything and do nothing, man,I was guilty about that!
Thanks for your hub.
